Prior to the reality-altering events of 1985’s CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS, Lena Luthor was the younger sister of Lex Luthor. She was estranged from her brother for years, despite Lex’s initial efforts to prevent her from learning the truth about his villainous career. Following the Crisis, however, Lena’s history was changed, and she became Lex’s daughter. She fell in with Brainiac 13, who, along with Brainiac 2.5, took over her mind and body. He immediately aged her to adolescence and attempted to use her as a weapon against Luthor himself. But his plan failed, and Lena’s history was again altered as a result of 2005’s INFINITE CRISIS. Returned to her original status as Luthor's younger sister, Lena was revealed to have been paralyzed because of an illness, which Lex believed he could have cured had he spent more time trying to engineer a solution. Lena and Lex’s complicated, often adversarial relationship only escalated when Lena learned of her brother’s villainous ambitions. She undermined him whenever possible, even if her plans often forced her down a villainous road herself.
